Jesus Makes the Difference

It has been a long time since I updated this blog.  I was married on 10-10-10 to April Nicole King and the theme of our wedding and continual marriage is “Jesus Makes the Difference”.  That message is universal and applicable to any number of situations.

Here’s the video we played at our wedding:

Sharpero Ministries Fundraiser 2010

Cleveland, Tennessee

We got to stay in the city that’s home to Cleveland State University and Lee University.  A friend name Ben let our team stay in his and his fiance’s apartments.  I have been making new friends on this trip and Nic Davis has been leader some of the guys in workouts before we go to bed.  It has been challenging and uplifting.  I’m thankful.

The next morning we went to these radical caves.  About half of our team went in.  The thing is that one team member had lost her wallet and we all came together in agreement before the Lord asking for a ridiculous miracle to get it back.  Well, it happened.  In the depth of the cave Ryan found a wallet and tossed it to Molly and told her to check it out.  It was the missing wallet.  You’ll see footage of it on the day 3 video.  On it’s way.

Right now I am typing this from the Grand Canyon cafe at the Grand Canyon Arizona.  We had 15 hour drive from Whitesboro, Texas to the Grand Canyon.  8 days down, 6 to go.

Cumberland Kentucky

There have been a number of fascinating experiences in the first two days of this American missions trip.  PRICELESS stories.   In other words money can not purchase these experiences.  They come from a combination of opportunity and the faith to step out in it.  I love this type of intense community that imposes a certain level of intimacy.

We all got to know each other yesterday through some wrong turns and spontaneous detours in pursuit of a place called Panther Falls where people jump of rock into the river.  Well, it was much farther than anticipated but totally worth the journey.  It started the trip off with a bonding occasion.

Finally last night we arrived in Cumberland Kentucky at about 11pm.  Something I’ve discovered is that when there is true unity among your brothers and sisters the external conditions are almost an after thought.  Contentment is inevitable when their is true unity.  Conversely if there is disunity the external conditions are never satisfactory.  Basically there is no substitute for unity.  What does it mean to be united?  Well, united in spirit is where it starts.  There is much more but I must let me brother Danny get back to his Mac book pro.

Tomorrow it is on the caves and then New Orleans.  Lord let your fire burn inside of me!  Lord Let me taste your grace that sets me free!
